PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a filter cleaning device for an air conditioner that cleans many filters in a short period of time and includes an effective cleaning process with little deterioration by cleaning. SOLUTION: A process in which a filter insertion frame 24 starts to go up with an operation signal from a preparation button 72 on a control board 64 and then stopps at a prescribed position is performed, and a confirming means with visual and auditory senses is interlocked from an input start of the preparation button 72 up to the stop of the filter insertion frame 24, and a process in which a vibrator 34 fixed to the filter insertion frame 24 is operated with an operation signal from a cleaning button 75 on the control board 64 is performed, the filter insertion frame 24 is carried up to a cleaning vessel 28 to be subjected to preliminary dipping, and the filter insertion frame 24 is then pulled out of the cleaning vessel 28 to be left as it is and subsequently redipped into the cleaning vessel 28 to be left as it is and these operations are repeated. Then a process is provided in which the filter insertion frame 24 is carried over the cleaning vessel 28 and injected with rinsing water of a rinsing device to be then left as it is, and the vibrator 34 is subsequently stopped.
