The Tree Hugger is a protective sleeve that surrounds the base and trunk of a tree. It is designed to protect trees by eliminating, or at minimum deterring; the ease with which animals can climb and inhabit them. The design consists of a one-piece, polyurethane sheet molded in vertical, accordion-like folds. The molded sheet utilizes Velcro.TM. strips adhered to its vertical edges at both ends on opposing sides. The corresponding male and female Velcro.TM. strips enable the molded sheet to be joined when wrapped in a cylindrical shape. The said molded sheet, when wrapped in its cylindrical configuration, has the ability to adjust and conform to any size tree trunk diameter. |
