PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve insertion loss and rectangularity of an surface acoustic wave device, having resonators connected in a multi-step ladder form. SOLUTION: The surface acoustic wave device has surface acoustic wave resonators connected in a multi-step ladder form and has two or more repetition periods of interdigital drive electrodes 10 of parallel resonators P1-P3, two or more kinds of periods of interdigital drive electrodes 10 of serial resonators S1-S3, two or more values of capacitance of the parallel resonators, and two kinds of measure values of capacitance of the serial resonators. The period of reflection electrodes 12, 14 disposed at both sides of the interdigital drive electrode is different from that of the interdigital electrodes. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
