PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network type monitoring system wherein at least one monitoring center can realize functions and operation contents of a conventional CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) or the like so as to monitor a plurality of cameras. SOLUTION: This network type monitoring system simplifies management of cameras on a network by introducing the concept of a system camera and a local camera. A CGI (Common Gateway I/F) function adopting the HTML transmits a camera control signal to control the camera connected to a camera image distributor at a remote place. Moreover, this monitoring method for the network type monitoring system controls by using the CGI function adopting the THML, cameras including at least camera accessory apparatuses such as a universal head, a lighting apparatus, a lens aperture adjustment apparatus, and a focusing apparatus.
