摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved long wavelength light source whose manufacture cost is reduced. SOLUTION: The light source generates the light of a first wavelength and couples generated light to an optical fiber. The light source includes an output laser having a first optical resonation hollow including a base mirror positioned outside the optical fiber and an upper mirror positioned inside the optical fiber and provided with a reflector. The light of the first wavelength is generated by an active region existing between the upper mirror and the base mirror but it is desirable that it is generated by optically pumping it by a second wavelength. It is desirable that the reflector is a Bragg reflector and it can include a mechanism that changes the wavelength of reflected light and a distance between the upper mirror and the base mirror. Pumped light is desirably generated by a pumping laser having the upper mirror which is electrically connected to the base mirror of the first optical resonance cavity and including a second optical resonance cavity which is electrically pumped.
