PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the thickness of a cam plate. SOLUTION: The cam plate 41 of the lever 40 is provided with an elastic locking piece 46 flexibly deformable in the thickness direction of the cam plate 41. By locking the elastic locking piece 46 to a locking receptor 33A of a holder 11, the lever 40 is held at an initial position. From this state, by shallowly inserting a female connector 10 into a hood 53 of a male connector 50, a cam pin 54 is fitted into a cam groove 45 and an unlocking rib 55 abuts on a projection 46A of the elastic locking piece 46, flexibly deforming the elastic locking piece 46 so that the locking between the elastic locking piece 46 and the locking receptor 33A is released, allowing the turning of the lever 40. Since the elastic locking piece 46, which locks the lever 40 at the initial position, is flexibly deformed along the plate plane of the cam plate 41, space for flexible deformation in the thickness direction is not required, enabling the connectors to be downsized.
