PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique to efficiently prepare an aromatic polycarbonate with favorable hue and stable physical properties. SOLUTION: Preparation of molten raw material mixtures of the aromatic dihydroxy compounds of molten carbonic acid diesters and a solid (powder, prilled form and so forth) comprises using a vertical mixer constructed according to a specific design condition. The molten raw material mixtures prepared under a specific melting condition are continuously supplied to a polymerizing vessel to proceed further polymerization. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
