<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand temperature range capable of purifying NOx of exhaust gas. <P>SOLUTION: In an exhaust gas purifying device, an NOx absorbing catalyst 7 and a lean NOx reducing catalyst 8 are arranged on downstream side and upper stream side respectively in an exhaust gas passage of an engine, and an reducing agent in the exhaust gas supplied into the NOx reducing catalyst 7 can be increased. The NOx absorbing catalyst 7 has higher NOx purifying performance in the predetermined first temperature range than that in the second temperature range lower than the first temperature range, and the NOx purifying performance is higher than that in the first temperature range in the second temperature range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
