PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for sampling a photodetector capable of sampling and reading the photodetector at the same time. SOLUTION: The system of sampling the photodetector comprises: a multi- integrator circuit (14) which is coupled between a photodetector output node (36) and a readout node. The multi-integrator circuit includes a plurality of storage elements (44, 46) and control circuits (48, 50, 52, and 54). The control circuits are operable to supply a result of a first storage sampling of the photodetector output node to the readout node and store a result of a second sampling of the photodetector output node at the same time.
