<p>An image recorder comprises recording heads each having recording elements and arranged in the direction of the array of the recording elements so as to record image data. A density correction signal calculating section calculates a density correction signal in accordance with a correction parameter preset in accordance with the relation in the array direction among the positions of the recording elements of the recording heads and the signal value of at least one pixel adjoining the switch position of image data from a recording element of one recording head at a border part between two recording heads to a recording element of the other recording head. A quantizing section quantizes the density correction signal from the density correction signal calculating section so as to convert the density correction signal into a quantized density correction signal having a signal level at which the density correction signal can be inputted into the recording head. A correction signal recording section forms at least one recording dot adjoining the switch position of the line including the at least one pixel or a line near the former line.</p> |
