The waste collecting container has a depositing column (2) with a roof-type cover (3). The container tapers in its lower section and the depositing column is located centrally on the upper side of the container. The depositing column is connected to the upper side of a pipe connector (4) installed on the upper side of the container and hinges on it. The connector reaches beyond the ground level beneath which the container is installed. The connector has a larger diameter than the depositing column.
