<p>An apparatus and a method for using a vascular introducer (10) with an ultrasonic probe (30) to remove a debris from a graft, fistula, vessel, port, or other vascular access device (20). The vascular introducer (10) for insertion into a vascular access device (20) includes an elongated shaft (40) having a distal end (42) and a proximal insertion end (44); an anchoring mechanism (70) that resides within the elongated shaft (40) when the anchoring mechanism (70) is in a retracted position and extends beyond the proximal insertion end (44) of the elongated shaft (40) and engages an inner surface (22) of the vascular access device (20) when the anchoring mechanism (70) is in an extended position; and an activation mechanism (100) that moves the anchoring mechanism (70) from the retracted position to the extended position.</p> |
