PURPOSE: A prism and an optical pick-up including the prism are provided to adjust the thickness of the prism freely and easily control focus offset by applying the prism to the optical pick-up. CONSTITUTION: A prism is divided into two optical elements each of which has an isosceles triangle shape. One side of one of the isosceles triangle is slidably combined with one side of the other isosceles triangle so that the thickness of the prism is controlled according to a sliding range. An optical pick-up includes a light source(1) for generating a light beam, a prism(10), an object lens(5), and a photo-detector(8). The prism is divided into two optical elements each of which has an isosceles triangle shape, and reflects the light beam generated by the light source to an optical disk. The object lens focuses the beam reflected by the prism on one point on the optical disk. The photo-detector detects a beam reflected from the optical disk and converts the detected beam into an electric signal. |
