<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a polyimide resin endless belt which does not generate deformation in a manufacturing process though a film is thick and has a smooth inner surface and to provide the polyimide resin endless belt to be obtained thereby. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the polyimide resin endless belt comprises a process wherein a polyimide precursor film is formed by applying a polyimide precursor solution to a surface of a columnar or cylindrical core body of <0.1 μm in surface roughness Ra; a process wherein after drying the polyimide precursor film to such a degree that the film can be detached from the columnar or cylindrical core body, the film is detached from the body and fitted to another core body or shifted on the columnar or cylindrical core body; a process for forming a polyimide resin film by heating the polyimide precursor film; and a process for peeling the polyimide resin film off from the columnar or cylindrical core body or the other core body.
