PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body for an automobile equipped with a cabin structure capable of being easily connected to a support structure which accommodates a drive unit. SOLUTION: The support structure 3 having a connecting range 10 relative to the cabin structure 2 and an end range 11 in the rear side is formed as an enclosing device 12 made of highly strong glass fiber reinforced plastic and reinforced by a support device 24. The enclosing device 12 encloses the drive unit with all sides thereof within at least a prescribed range and has a plurality of through-openings 14 to 24 to form close paths to enable direct contact with the drive unit.
