PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backrest for a seat that can support stably the portion from the hip part to the back part and stimulates these portions comfortably, and can demonstrate the effect of improving the circulation of blood, and also prevents degradation of appearance. SOLUTION: The backrest 1 for the seat comprises a plate-shape base member 2 formed of an elastic body and sheet-form pressing members 3, 4 that are held on the surface side of the above base member and formed of an elastic body harder than the base member, and has many pressing parts 12 arranged in all directions. The thickness of the above base member and the sheet-form pressing member at the portion corresponding to the back part is set to be smaller than the thickness of the base member and the sheet-form pressing member at the portion corresponding to the hip part.
