Process for the separation of the diastereomeric bases of 2-[(dimethylamino)methyl]-1-(3-methoxyphenyl)-cyclohexanol

A method for separating the diastereomer bases of 2-[(dimethylamino)methyl]-1-(3-methoxyphenyl)-cyclohexanol in which the separation of the diastereomer bases takes place through formation of a base hydrate. A diastereomeric base mixture with a cis:trans isomer ratio of less than 80:20 is used.
