PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pedometer, capable of accurately detecting the number of steps no matter how is placed in a pocket of clothes or a carrying bag without fixing the pedometer to a waist belt, and to obtain health care data by automatically taking the data of the number of steps in an information terminal. SOLUTION: This pedometer 1 is formed by a three-axis acceleration sensor 2 for detecting the acceleration in X, Y and Z directions, CPU 3 for processing the detected acceleration data to detect the number of steps, a display part 4 for displaying the number of steps, a power supply part 5 for driving the pedometer 1, and an information terminal interface 6 capable of communicating with the outside. The pedometer 1 is inserted in a designated interface 8 of the information terminal 7 for the pedometer to take the data of the number of steps in the information terminal 7, and the data of the number of steps is processed in the information terminal to obtain health care data.
