PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a central processing unit capable of efficiently executing two or more command strings. SOLUTION: This central processing unit for executing two or more command strings in parallel comprises a resistor for holding a context showing the halfway state of the execution of one command string; a memory access part for storing the content of the register according to an access command to memory in the command string; a context storage part for storing a context saved from the resister, which is provided separately from an area where the memory access part stores the content of the resistor; and a control part for saving the context from the resistor to the context storage part and returning the context from the context storage part to the resistor.
