PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast data receiver for receiving data broadcast. SOLUTION: The broadcast data receiver receives various display object (OB) data 21 to be displayed on a screen, screen layout data 22 for the display OB, and screen area particularizing data 23 for particularizing a prescribed screen area in the screen, and includes: a means 31 for receiving broadcast data; a means 32 for storing received broadcast data; a means 33 for controlling the display image on the basis of the stored data; a means 34 for outputting the display image to a display apparatus; a means 36 for receiving selection entry to select the display screen area for the display OB unique to the data receiver; and a display position control means 35 for the display OB unique to the data receiver for deciding the display position of the display OB unique to the data receiver so that the screen area specified by the screen area specifying data does not overlap the display screen area of the display OB.
