The drum brake comprises a plate (12) carrying two diametrically opposite shoes (16A,16B) which are pressed against the drum (14) by means of a hydraulic actuator (22) angularly located between the shoes. Elastically deformable means (42) are angularly located between the actuator and a reference shoe (16A). The stiffness of these means is less than that of the brake and comprise an elastic member which snap fitted on and supported by the reference shoe in contact with the actuator. Independent claims are included for a drum brake unit and an elastically deformable means.
