<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device which is equipped with a boosting circuit constituted so that it can avoid an adverse influence on other circuits by lessening a voltage ripple at start-up by changing the conditions of boosting action so as to suppress current consumption at the start-up. <P>SOLUTION: A charge pump unit, which has a MOS transistor and a capacitor supplied with clocks at its the other end, is equipped with a plurality of charge pump means which are connected in series and a clock-generating means which generates capacity limiting clocks with their current supply capacity to a capacitor being limited as clocks until predetermined specified conditions are satisfied (for example, time or output voltage value) after receiving a start signal. Hereby, this suppresses the current consumption at the start of a boosting circuit, thereby lessening the ripple of a power voltage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
