PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus applied to a communication system or the like such as a wireless LAN, capable of automatically and quickly establishing an excellent communication state at all times independently of the presence/absence of a disturbing radio wave thereby eliminating the need for man-hours and realizing a low cost.

SOLUTION: The wireless communication apparatus capable of making wireless communication with terminals 1A, 1B, includes: a channel setting section 31 capable of setting a plurality of communication frequency bands and selecting one communication frequency band to be a default channel; an SN ratio detection section 34 for detecting the S/N ratio as to a plurality of communication frequency bands able to be set by the channel setting section 31 so as to detect a communication state; and a channel selection section 36 for selecting a communication frequency band with the highest S/N ratio among a plurality of the communication frequency bands on the basis of the communication state detected by the SN ratio detection section 34, allowing the channel setting section 31 to set the selected communication frequency band thereby making communication with the terminal.
