PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method by which administration and operation of a multi-media file is comfortably performed. SOLUTION: In order to enable the multimedia file to be handled with equal operability as a track (a musical composition) on a music CD (Audio CD), a controlling file holding a list for making the multimedia file correspond to the track, is produced and the controlling file is written and is read by a media player.
