A polypeptide has at least 80% amino acid sequence identity with PRO1031 whose sequence is shown in SEQ ID NO:1 or PRO1122 whose sequence is shown in SEQ ID NO:3. The nucleic acid sequence is the sequence in SEQ ID NO:2 and 4 respectively. Also described is an antibody that specifically binds to the polypeptide, a vector comprising that will encode the polypeptide and an ex-vivo host cell comprising the vector. The polypeptide can be used in a medicament for treating a degenerative cartilaginous disorder.
