<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducing device which has a license mode to meet the request of user and diversified security functions and can protect copy right in delivering the data, and a content control method in a data control system. <P>SOLUTION: The reproducing device 10 supplies partly encoded data including header information 126a to a control part 20 for the number of times of reproductions via a data storage unit 12, and decoded, the number of times of reproductions are re-written according to the operation, and re-encoded, and the header information 126b is returned to the data storage unit 12. A validity checking unit 16 compares the user identification information 34a to be supplied with the header information 124 to check whether or not the use of the object data is valid in the present reproducing unit, and a reproduction control unit 26 determines acceptance/rejection of reproduction in the desired object data according to the limit condition such as the validity checking result and the reproduction number, and controls the data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
