A device for reliably detecting presence of plural kinds of elements 110, such as DC/DC converters produced conforming to standard specifications, actually mounted on a printed board, replaceable with one another, and incapable of operating parallel, while suppressing the number of signal lines laid on the printed board, the total length of the signal lines, and load on the processing of the detection of the presence. A circuit device having a built-in function of detecting presence of plural kinds of elements is also disclosed.
