IGNITION COIL FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

A core forming a closed magnetic circuit and primary and secondary coils are provided in a coil case, with the primary and secondary coils disposed around a single bobbin in an axial-direction line. The secondary coil is wound at the middle of the bobbin, and the primary coil is wound divided into segments - one on the low voltage side, and the other on the high voltage side of the secondary coil. The leader line on the low voltage side of the secondary coil is passed between the bobbin and the primary coil and connected to a terminal at the bobbin's one end. A leader line connecting windings of the primary coil is routed over the secondary coil in non-contact with it. An independent-ignition type ignition coil, having primary and secondary coils wound around one bobbin in an axial- direction line, can be reduced in sized and improved in output by the above arrangement.
