ELEVATING MECHANISM OF SADDLE AND BICYCLE HAVING THAT MECHANISM

A saddle elevating mechanism 70 in which a possibility that various members attached externally interfere with the operation of a bicycle 10 is eliminated positively while ensuring a beautiful appearance of the bicycle 10, and a bicycle having that mechanism. A seat pipe 21 is internally fitted with substantially all members constituting the saddle elevating mechanism 70 including a lower coil spring 73 for urging a saddle post 51 upward, a stopper 71 for regulating elevation/lowering of the saddle post 51, and the inner cable 75a of a double cable 75 for releasing the stopper 71 through operation of an operating dial 74b of an operating member 74. Consequently, the bicycle 10 is prevented from having a complicated appearance.
