Disclosed is a feeder device for delivering workpieces to a work station, comprising two supporting devices (13,14) which run in opposite directions. One supporting device (13) seizes a workpiece support (B) at a transfer station (US), lifting said workpiece support (B) off a belt conveyor and placing it at a desired working height. The supporting device (14) disposed in a work station (BS) is lowered and releases the corresponding workpiece support (A) to the belt conveyor. The supporting device (13) that follows then enters the work station (BS) with the work piece support (B) placed at the working height and supports the workpiece support while the workpiece is worked on.
