The intermediate store system for a package strapping machine comprises a strap feed reel (6) and guide reels (9 -13). Some of these are mounted on a fixed shaft (8) and the remainder on a movable shaft (12). The strap is fed over a reel (8) on the fixed shaft and on to a reel (13) on the movable shaft.
