The door or window has a frame (1,2) for the panel of wood or similar material, with an outer metal cladding profile. A force fit bond between the panel frame and the glass mounting bar (3) is formed by a profiled groove (4) or a metal/plastics profile around them. The structure is secured by additional metal clips (8), and the assembly is ventilated externally. A strip (9) takes up tolerances in the insulating glass pane (7) thickness.
