PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opener for a cork stopper incorporated with a corkscrew. SOLUTION: The opener for the cork stopper comprises a handle having the first hooking means and a slender cavity containing an inner screw along the length of the handle and a separated corkscrew having a head fixed on a back end part and being received by a cavity. The head has the first hooking means standing against rotation of the corkscrew to the handle and the second hooking means for releasably hooking in such a way that the corkscrew can be screwed into a cork of a wine bottle by rotating the handle. While the head is received in one direction by the cavity, the head includes an external screw for successive hooking with the screw in the cavity so that in accordance with rotation of the handle, the corkscrew can be drawn backward into the cavity and the cork is thus pulled out. The head can be received in the opposite direction by the cavity and the corkscrew is stored in the cavity by hooking these screws with each other. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
