<p>A collapsible canopy comprising two pivot blocks (10 and 12) and a plurality of collapsible support arches (14, 16 and 18). Each arch has one of its ends pivotally connected to one of the pivot blocks (10) and the other of its ends pivotally connected to the other pivot block (12). Each arch comprises a plurality of straight elongate sections (20, 22, 24, 26 and 28) connected by one or more joints (30, 32, 34 and 36). The length of a first such section (20) of a first such arch (14) differs from the length of a second such section (20) of a second such arch (16), corresponding in its position in the said second arch (16) to that of the said first section (20) in the said first arch (14). At least one of the said first and second such sections (20) is adjustable in length whereby the canopy, when erected, is shaped according to the difference between the lengths of the said first and second sections (20). At the same time the canopy is collapsible by pivoting the sections (20, 22, 24, 26 and 28) together at the pivot blocks (10 and 12), adjusting the length of the said at least one of the said first and second sections (20) so that those two sections (20) become substantially equal in length, and folding the arches (14, 16 and 18) at joints (30) at the ends of those sections (20). <IMAGE></p> |
