PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment solution which has excellent mechanical durability and chemical durability in surface treatment, and imparts slidability, wear resistance, lubricity, water repellency, mold releasability, nonconductivity, chemical resistance or the like to the surface to be treated without depending on the shape thereof, and to provide a surface treatment method using the same surface treatment solution. SOLUTION: The surface treatment solution contains particles capable of electrodeposition, and consisting of at least either a polymerizable compound or a polymer (such as a polyimide resin and an epoxy resin having electric charges on the surface), inorganic particles having a mean particle diameter of≤0.05μm (such as titanium oxide particles and alumina particles), and fluorine-containing organic particles (such as polytetrafluoroethylene). The surface treatment solution is preferably blended, e.g. with the partial condensate of the hydrolysate of organosilane. The treatment solution is obtained by mixing the emulsion of the particles capable of electrodeposition with a dispersed body of respective particles. A film is formed on the surface of a base material with the surface treatment solution as an electrodeposition solution, and then the film is subjected to heat treatment. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
