PURPOSE: An interface device for programmable logic controller is provided to improve an operating speed and prevent a loss of data by inputting or outputting data without a standby time. CONSTITUTION: An interface device for programmable logic controller includes a high-speed counter portion(41) and a memory(42). The high-speed counter portion(41) receives or transmits a pulse signal from or to a special function module(10), forms data by counting the received pulse signals, and generates an output pulse by comparing the data. The memory(42) is used for storing the data of the high-speed counter portion(41) or data of a programmable logic controller. The memory is accessed by a control command of the programmable logic controller. The special function module(10) includes an input portion(11) for receiving an input signal from an external sensor, an output portion(12) for outputting an internal signal, and an insulating circuit(13) for interfacing the input portion(11) and the output portion(12) with the programmable logic controller.
