PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anoscope equipped with an illumination function capable of illuminating the sutured part in the anus through the anoscope itself. SOLUTION: The anoscope consists of a cylindrical body part 1 capable of being inserted in the anus and one or a plurality of handle parts 2 extending in the radial direction of the cylindrical body part from the rear end of the cylindrical body part and rotating the cylindrical body part around the axis thereof. The cylindrical body part is equipped with a leading end part 11 of which the body part facilitating the insertion into the anus is contracted in diameter toward the leading end thereof, a notch part 12 formed by notching at least the 1/4 region of the periphery of the body part continued to the leading end part and permitting an operator to approach the mucous membrane of the rectum deeper than the anal tube so as to enable purse-string suture, a main LED light source wherein one or a plurality of LEDs 3 are arranged to the inner surface of the cylindrical body part opposed to the notch part 12 so as to be able to illuminate the purse-string suture region 4 from the notch part 12 and especially irradiate the purse-string suture region from a position near to an inlet and an auxiliary LED light source for irradiating the purse- string suture position from the area just under this position.
