PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a metallic endless ring material by which the productivity is furthermore improved by welding both edge parts in the width direction of a rolled stock as a method for manufacturing the metallic endless ring material which becomes a belt for transmitting power and the metallic endless ring material to which this method is applied. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the metallic endless ring material which becomes the belt for transmitting the power, the metallic endless ring material is made by cutting the base stock for the metallic endless ring material made into a cylindrical shape after performing the bending work so that both edge parts in the width direction of a rolled strip which is made into the base stock for the metallic endless ring material come close to each other, bringing both edge parts come close into contact with each other and making it into the cylindrical shape by performing welding with a welding device.
