INK JET PRINTER CAPABLE OF CHECKING MALFUNCTION OF NOZZLE AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING INFORMATION REGARDING MALFUNCTION OF NOZZLE

PURPOSE: An ink jet printer and a method for providing information regarding a malfunction of a nozzle are provided to allow a user to check the malfunction of the nozzle from an exterior of the ink jet printer by applying predetermined voltage and current to the nozzle. CONSTITUTION: An ink jet printer includes an input section(10), a power supplying section(20), a nozzle driving section(30), a nozzle defect detecting section(40), a display section(50) and a control section(60). The input section(10) has a plurality of order keys. The power supplying section(20) supplies driving power to a nozzle driving section(30) provided in a printer head. The nozzle driving section(30) heats a nozzle. The nozzle defect detecting section(40) outputs a malfunction of the nozzle through detecting a voltage dropping level of driving power applied to the nozzle driving section(30). The display section(40) displays an identification code of the nozzle driving section(30) having the defect. The control section(60) controls the all components.
