<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary slide valve which can be composed of the minimum number of separate parts to be the most compact possible, and have corrosion resistance, and which can be produced easily to the utmost. <P>SOLUTION: This rotary slide valve for a pipeline for carrying medium includes a housing 1 which can be installed between two pipeline ends. The housing has a lock member 9 to disconnect the pipeline, and an actuation device 8 to actuate the lock member. The housing also has a first receiving range 4 to receive the lock member at a closure position of the rotary slide valve, a second receiving range 5 to receive the lock member at a release position of the rotary slide valve, and a drive range 3 to receive the actuation device 8. The drive range 3 is disposed in the housing 1 separately from the first and the second receiving ranges 4 and 5.
