PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera capable of verifying with easy operations a status of the focus during photographing. SOLUTION: Contrast of the images photographed by an imaging element 3 is determined by a focus determining circuit 5 and a point for focusing is determined. Images around subjects to be photographed are displayed under enlargement on an LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) 8. The pictures to be displayed under the enlargement can be changed by a focus point adjusting switch 9b and the focus point of the images can be made fine adjustments of the focus point by the switch 9b.
