PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type display apparatus having improved lightness at a low cost and to provide an image processing system with the projection type display apparatus.

SOLUTION: The projection type display apparatus is configured such that a mirror is placed between an image display element and a lens in the vicinity of the image display element among lenses to make a light of a light source incident on the image display element on an optical path of at least one color band light or over on which the image display element is located.
