PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reciprocal engine equipped with a linear actuator in which the production cost is reduced and the assembling accuracy of an outer yoke can be enhanced easily. SOLUTION: The linear actuator in a reciprocal engine comprises an inner yoke, outer yokes 2a, 2b, 3a and 3b, and a permanent magnet. The inner yoke is mounted on the outer circumferential surface of a cylinder. The outer yokes 2a, 2b and 3a, 3b are fixed to hold a coil 4 between. The permanent magnet is disposed in the gap between the inner yoke and the outer yokes 2a, 2b, 3a and 3b such that it can be driven reciprocally. Four outer yokes 3a and 3b among eight outer yokes 2a, 2b, 3a and 3b fixed along the coil 4 are formed by machining a metal block whereas the remaining four outer yokes 2a and 2b are formed by laminating electromagnetic steel plates.
