<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the processing quality or reliability of a public money automatic transaction device for cutting a slip. <P>SOLUTION: In this public money automatic transaction device for returning a receipt part by cutting a slip, and for collecting an issuer/dealer stub part, whether or not the slip taken into the device is normally cuttable is detected, and when it is judged that the slip is cuttable, cutting processing is executed, and when it is judged that the slip is not cuttable, the cutting processing is stopped, and the cutting deviation is prevented.
