PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing medium separation mechanism which effectively separates a printing medium subjected to the transfer of a liquid toner image thereto from an image support, in a liquid development electrophotographic device which melts and transfers the image formed from liquid toner onto the image support by a developing unit, while pressing the image against the printing medium. SOLUTION: The image formed from the liquid toner is melted and transferred to the printing medium in a nip part formed by the image support and a medium press roller which presses the printing medium to the image support, and bending force with which the printing medium is curved along the medium press roller is continuously applied.
