Sandwich fleece web, has centre strengthening mesh thread layer

A non-woven textile web (2) has two layers of fleece either side of a supporting mesh layer of two or more threads (9). The threads forming the mesh layer are stronger than the outer fleece layers. The outer fleece layer is made of textile fibres with a low-temperature melting point e.g. 'meltblown material' and which bond easily with the mesh threads (9). An Independent claim is also included for a continuous manufacturing process for the web (2) in which a mesh is sandwiched between two layers of fleece in the presence of a hot gas and is subsequently exhausted.
