METHOD FOR RECORDING INFORMATION ON OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM, INFORMATION RECORDER, AND OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM

A method for recording information on a rewritable optical recording medium having information recording layers. A sufficient erase rate is ensured even if any of the information recording layers is direct-overwritten. In the method, a laser beam is applied to the light incidence surface (13a) of an optical recording medium (10) having at least an L0 layer (20) and an L1 layer (30) formed thereon in a multilayer structure so as to record information. Information is recorded in the L0 layer (20) by an off-pulse recording method, and in the L1 layer (30) by an on-pulse recording method. In such a way, even if any of the information recording layers is subjected to direct overwrite, a sufficient erase rate is ensured.
