Disclosed herein are RBC preparations and methods of making and using thereof for treating, preventing or inhibiting ETEC infections. In particular, bovine RBC preparations are shown to reduce ETEC adhesion. Also disclosed are kits comprising RBC preparations for the treatment of ETEC infections.
