<p>A method of treating inflammation, an inflammatory condition, or AIDS-associated neurological disorder in a subject in need of such treatment is disclosed. The method includes administering to said subject a pharmaceutically effective amount of substantially purified hydroxytyrosol or a substantially purified mixture of hydroxytyrosol and oleuropein.
