Disclosed is an inking unit for the printing couple of a double-width printing press comprising one roller (02). For inking the roller, the inking unit contains one or two doctor blades (03). If the unit contains two doctor blades, they are positioned side by side, in an axial direction to said roller, and they operate independently one from another. If the unit contains one doctor blade, the length of said doctor blade enables side by side positioning of at least four newspaper pages and said doctor blade can be positioned against or on the roller.
